Match Tactics

  • No. 1: Tell everyone

Spread the word about Sport Relief in your school including when your event is happening using the posters in this kit. Most schools will take part on Friday 14th March.

Top tip: You can order more posters here

  • No. 2: Pull your Socks up

Time to change your Socks? Use the Sock Deposit Scheme to order Socks for your school (they might be a bit baggy for the under-5s!) and help change a life too. Each pair costs £2 with at least £1 going to Comic Relief. Simply pay a small deposit and send us the rest of the money later. That way your students will look the part when they take on their challenge in school.

Top tip: Download an order form here

  • No. 3: Set your target

How much money do you want to raise? Whatever you do, by taking part in a sporty challenge and raising much needed cash, your school will be able to help change the lives of children like Jessica for the better.

Top tip: Check out this useful online calculator to help you work out your target – it tells you how your money could be spent

  • No. 4: What’s your challenge?

No matter what subject or age group you teach, your school can get active by doing sporty challenges. The money you raise can help children around the world rise to the challenges they face.

Top tip: You can come up with your own challenge or be inspired by the huge selection of ideas on offer here

  • No. 5: Organise your team

Once you’ve chosen your challenge, there are many people to help you plan and organise Sport Relief in your school. Whether it’s your charity co-ordinator, PE, PSHE or Citizenship teachers or your school council – get them onboard quick!

Tip: Get your students organising Sport Relief 2008 in your school with these special resources for school councils

  • No. 6: Assemble your players

A special assembly can inspire your students to get involved in Sport Relief 2008.

Tip: There are assembly ideas and scripts ready for you to use right now.

  • No. 7: Get teaching

Use our learning activities so your students can learn about the world and understand the impact they can have by taking part in Sport Relief. There are resources for Citizenship and PSHE/PSE and other subject areas including Geography, English – and of course PE.

Tip: If you have any questions we may be able to answer them in our F.A.Q.s

  • No. 9: Have a ball

Enjoy Sport Relief in your school and, once it’s all over, relax and watch some seriously entertaining telly on BBC ONE from 7pm on Friday 14th March.

Tip: There will also be some brilliant programmes on CBBC for your students – so make sure they tune in!

  • No. 10: Pay your money in

Don’t forget pay in your much-needed fundraising money. Use the giro in your School Kit to make sure your school gets a thank you certificate from us. If you haven’t received your school kit order one here.
